Autumn Term Topic- What was life like in Wales during World War2

We are thrilled to announce that our upcoming topic will be focused on World War II, specifically exploring the home front and what life was like in Wales during this significant period! Get ready for an exciting journey back in time, where we will uncover fascinating stories and experiences from our local communities.

Our lessons will be packed with engaging and enjoyable activities, providing plenty of opportunities for everyone to develop their knowledge and skills. We are particularly excited about our planned visit to Cardiff Castle Museum, where students will experience history first-hand. Additionally, we will have an expert visiting our school to share insights and answer questions about this crucial era.

As always, we value the pupils’ ideas and perspectives, which will help shape our lessons and activities. Let the adventure begin as we delve into the past together!

Autumn Half term Update

As we reach the end of this half term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the achievements of the children in the Noble Narwhals class. I am pleased to report that they have settled exceptionally well into their new routines.

The children have demonstrated their creativity and empathy through fantastic diary entries written in the role of an evacuee child. Additionally, they engaged in a scientific investigation focusing on the size of shadows, diligently planning, carrying out experiments, and documenting their results with appropriate conclusions and evaluations.

In mathematics, we have made significant progress, particularly in Big Maths, with commendable work on place value and written methods for addition and subtraction. It has been a great start to the school year, and I look forward to further developments in the coming term.
